Civic Federal Credit Union's agreement lets you reject arbitration and keep your right to sue — usually within a short window after opening the account. You have to send it in writing. Here's the language from the filed agreement:
“…contains an Arbitration Provision which governs how disputes between you and us will be resolved if a dispute arises. You have the right to opt out of the Arbitration Provision by notifying us within the time period specified in that section. DEFINITIONS Account means your Credit Union credit card account. Authorized User means any person who uses the Account with actual, implied, or apparent authority. This includes a person you authorize to use your Account or a Card, whether you notify us or not. It also includes a person another Authorized User authorizes to use your Account or a Card, whether they notify you or not.
